🎯GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE

Identify the different types of warts (plantar, genital, vulgaris) and their therapeutic indications

Understand the mechanism of action and principles of cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen, cryospray)

Learn how to explain the procedure and obtain informed consent

Apply the regulatory steps of cryotherapy treatment, from triage to documentation

Carry out the treatment on models under supervision (freeze-thaw technique, safety protocols)

Adapt the method to specific situations (immunosuppressed patients, children, adults)

Managing contraindications, side effects and complications
-
Teaching preventive measures and post-care management
-
Comply with standards of hygiene, protection (PPE), ethics and interprofessional communication

Document and communicate according to professional standards

MODULES INCLUDED IN THIS COURSE
MODULE 1. Introduction & Objectives

Welcome, presentation of the program, consent
MODULE 2. Pathophysiology of warts
-
Virology: HPV, pathophysiology of warts (plantar, vulgaris, genital)
-
Clinical differentiation of lesions (keratosis, molluscum, condylomas, etc.)
-
Immune cascade involved, contributing factors and transmission
MODULE 3. Principles of cryotherapy
-
Mechanisms of action of liquid nitrogen (-196 °C), targeted cell destruction
-
Protocols: duration of application, freeze-thaw cycles, indications according to the type of lesion
-
Expected efficacy, physiology of healing
MODULE 4. Gesture safety and protocols
-
Hygiene, disinfection, approved equipment, preparation of the operating field
-
Precautions and monitoring during application (tolerance, tissue reaction)
-
Side effects: pain, blister, scar, depigmentation
-
Contraindications: suspected cancer, uncontrolled diabetes, circulatory disorders, immunosuppression, pregnancy (case to be discussed), keloid scars

Management of complications, discontinuation of the procedure in case of intolerance

Need for a medical prescription or an authorized collective protocol

Minimum age, types of injuries allowed, maximum number of sessions, mandatory documentation of the procedure

Follow-up planning every 2-3 weeks, maximum 5 sessions per lesion

Post-care education, contamination prevention, patient recommendations (local care, non-scratching, monitoring healing)

Rigorous documentation: gesture, material, observed effect, tolerance, follow-up planning
