WOMEN’S HEALTH REINVENTED
Puberty Care
We are all unique and puberty is a variable period from one teenager to another. Indeed, each one experiences bodily and hormonal changes in her own way.
The girl’s body changes and some parents do not have the words to accompany the teenager. The truth is that for many parents, conversations concerning puberty and sexuality are a source of embarrassment and discomfort. While some avoid the subject, others rely on school sexual education courses. However, these courses are sometimes non-existent.
But, that’s not all. What about the impact on emotions, self-image, acne, first menstruation, contraception, sexuality, etc.?
The pubescent teenager needs a personalized service that specifically meets her needs. This is what we offer at l’Infirmière Coach De Santé. If your teen is feeling overwhelmed, has any questions concerning health, or simply if she want to talk to a trusted health professionnal and health coach, contact us.
With us, you’ll have access to a health professional for an open, empathetic, confidential and non-judgmental discussion.
A unique service
TO UNDERSTAND YOUR BODY.
Teens have unique sexual and reproductive health needs. They go through puberty and their bodies change. During the consultation, L’Infirmière Coach De Santé helps the teenager to better understand her body and its transformations. She answers questions about menstruation, sexuality, breast development, and many other related topics.
What happens during the consultation?
During the consultation, the nurse also assesses the adolescent’s general health, starting with data collection. Then, a basic examination and a check up for vital signs including height and weight, completes the evaluation. There are three specific examinations:
Complete physical examination
The nurse examines the teenager from head to toe.
Breast Examination
Even though breast cancer is rare in adolescents, it is still important to screen for it. The nurse performs breast palpation for lumps, cysts, and other irregularities.
Examination of the external genital area
During the outpatient examination, the nurse examines the external part of the genitals, looking for lesions, wounds and inflammation.
What topics are discussed?
The following topics are discussed during the consultation:
- Sexual activity
- Sexually transmitted diseases (STBBIs)
- Vaccines (e.g., human papillomavirus)
- Birth Control (Contraception)
- Menstrual periods
- Pelvic pain
- Natural approaches to treating acne.
Acne
“Acne is a common skin condition in teenagers, characterized by the appearance of pimples and blackheads, often due to hormonal changes and excessive sebum production. To treat it naturally, solutions such as using green tea, honey or aloe products can help reduce inflammation and soothe the skin.”
Menstrual cycle
“The menstrual cycle is a natural process, marked by hormonal variations that can cause symptoms such as cramps, headaches, and mood swings. To relieve these symptoms naturally, remedies like ginger tea, regular exercise, and relaxation techniques like yoga can be beneficial.”
Contraception
“Contraception is an important aspect of adolescent reproductive health, helping to prevent unwanted pregnancies and plan for their future. For natural approaches, methods such as tracking menstrual cycles, using physical barriers such as condoms, and open communication with a partner can be effective.”
Sexual Education
“Sexual education is essential for adolescent girls, providing them with the knowledge to make informed choices about their health and relationships. For a natural approach, education can include open discussions about values, mutual respect, and safe practices, as well as encouraging people to ask questions and seek reliable information.”
Healthy Eating
“Healthy eating is crucial for adolescent girls, supporting their growth and development while contributing to their overall well-being. To promote natural eating habits, it is important to favor fresh, unprocessed foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins, while avoiding excess sugar and saturated fat.”
Meditation
“Meditation is a beneficial practice for teenage girls, helping to reduce stress and improve concentration. By incorporating natural meditation techniques like deep breathing, mindfulness, and guided visualizations, they can cultivate a state of calm and mental well-being.”
